‘PS – The New Clean’ Wins Retailer Award for Best New Product of the Year

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 14, 2006

Retail grocers have recognized an innovative, germ-fighting hand spray (made by St. Petersburg, Florida-based American HomeHealth) with the ‘Retailer Choice’ Award in the Health and Beauty category at the annual Food Marketing Institute (FMI) Trade Show.

PS was launched earlier this year with a humorous ad during the Super Bowl and is currently being advertised on Oprah, Dr. Phil, Martha, and The Price is Right. The PS brand consists of a complete line of hospital-grade infection prevention products including hand soaps and sanitizers, and surface disinfectants. These products were adapted from the formulae used in hospitals and by doctors and dentists multiple times each day between patients as protection from copious strains of harmful bacteria. The surface disinfectants and wipes are effective against MRSA, Staph, and TB. AHH adapted the hospital product for home-use with a convenient Twizz-Top (spray cap and twist lock), the only hand sanitizer available to consumers by spray application. The hand spray contains the active ingredient Benzalkonium Chloride, an antimicrobial.

“PS appeals to the ‘Security Mom,’ the modern-day version of the traditional soccer mom, a busy woman who wants to keep her home as germ-free as possible for her active family,” said Ruly Lora, Chairman and CEO. “PS is reformulated with fragrance and repackaged for the consumer market with the industrial strength used by healthcare professionals.” Lora noted that new scents will be available in 2007.

Food Marketing Institute conducts programs in research, education, industry relations and public affairs on behalf of its 1,500 member companies – food retailers and wholesalers – in the United States and around the world. FMI’s U.S. members operate approximately 26,000 retail food stores with a combined annual sales volume of $ 340 billion – three-quarters of all retail food store sales in the United States. FMI’s retail membership is composed of large multi-store chains, regional firms and independent supermarkets. Its international membership includes 200 companies from 50 countries. More information is available at http://www.FMI.org.

PS is widely available to consumers in all 50 states at retail chains such as Target and Publix. General information is available at http://www.PStheNewClean.com.

Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club Named 2004 Club of the Year by USA Cycling

Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club Named 2004 Club of the Year by USA Cycling

Los Gatos, CA (PRWEB) December 27, 2004

The Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club (LGBRC) has been given the distinction of excellence for the third time with USA Cycling’s 2004 Club of the Year, Division I award. The LGBRC has previously been recognized as Division I Women’s Club of the Year in 2002 and Regional Club of the Year in 2000. In a competition that was acknowledged by USA Cycling representative Lydia Bosch as “unquestionably the toughest competition in four years,” the 146-member Los Gatos Club was ranked the highest Division I club in the nation. “Most impressive were the innovative ways that clubs are encouraging new riders to join and excel in cycling,” said Bosch, “the huge amounts of time and dedication that club officers, coaches, parents, etc. are putting into improving riders’ skill and health, and the ways that clubs are impacting the communities around them.”

Division winners were determined by how well-rounded and active a club was in proportion to its number of members, according to USA Cycling. Judges based their decisions on the number of events a club held, outstanding competitive results, clinics and seminars held to benefit member education, and community related charitable events. Clubs were further evaluated on programs implemented to stimulate growth in their discipline or club and the visible results of those programs.

The town of Los Gatos will present a Mayoral Commendation to Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club President, Barry Gordon, in recognition of the USA Cycling award and numerous accomplishments of the racing team. The LGBRC has produced one of the oldest and most successful annual cycling criteriums in the United States, The Cat’s Hill Criterium. May 7, 2005 will mark the thirty-second consecutive running of the Cat’s Hill race. Riders in the 2005 Testarossa Vineyard Cat’s Hill Classic will race on the streets of Los Gatos, completing as many as thirty five laps up the short and very steep 23% Nicholson Avenue climb known as Cat’s Hill.

“USA Cycling has just recognized the Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club as the best large cycling club in the US. This is something that I have believed in for many years and I am very pleased that USA Cycling agrees with me,” said Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club President, Barry Gordon. “It is a personal honor to me to serve as the club’s President. The LGBRC is very special in that it is open to everyone regardless of age or skill level. No test rides or race résumés are required to join our club. There is never any pressure to race. All we ask of our membership is to have a passion for the sport, to support our activities in the cycling community and have fun. Our low key approach produces superb results. For example, we won National Championships in road racing, track racing and mountain bike racing in 2004 and promoted two very successful races with a record number of participants. The very bright and energetic members of the LGBRC make it a very special organization and we truly appreciate this honor.”
