Workforce Scheduling Improves Patient Care in Latest Axsium Whitepaper

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) February 22, 2011

Axsium Group today announced the release of the Healthcare Productivity Balancing Act, a whitepaper helping healthcare organizations balance patient care and quality, while controlling costs, using proactive workforce scheduling. The whitepaper will be available at the annual HIMSS conference in Orlando, Florida, at Axsium’s booth #3582 or available for immediate download.

Patient care and quality of service are two key differentiators in healthcare. Every organization strives to achieve the highest quality ratings in the industry while providing superior care to patients, all while working hard to control costs. It’s a daunting task for any healthcare organization. Axsium’s latest whitepaper outlines the importance of deploying a comprehensive workforce scheduling system as a mechanism to overcome the difficulty of balancing these differentiators with the organizational need to control costs.

“Properly managing labor productivity is a central pillar for healthcare providers trying to balance the need to provide superior patient care, industry recognized quality and keep costs in line,” said Chris Flanders, healthcare practice lead, Axsium Group. “By standardizing critical staffing and workforce business processes, healthcare organizations will be better poised to manage and control labor costs, improve productivity throughout the delivery system and ultimately provide better patient care.”

Axsium’s healthcare team will be available all week at HIMSS, in booth #3582, to provide copies of this latest research and discuss how your organization might benefit from a scheduling system.

CDPHP® Secures Lead Sponsorship of Workforce Team Challenge

Albany, NY (Vocus) January 26, 2010

The Hudson Mohawk Road Runners Club (HMRRC) of Albany announced today that CDPHP® has signed on as the new lead sponsor of the Workforce Team Challenge for a three-year term. Billed as the largest annual road race between Utica and New York City, this year’s challenge will take place on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Empire State Plaza in Albany.

“CDPHP is excited to work with the HMRRC and serve as the new sponsor of the Workforce Team Challenge event,” said John D. Bennett, MD, president and CEO, CDPHP. “This event aligns with our goals as a community-based health and wellness company. We encourage other businesses, large and small, to join us for the biggest road race in the Capital Region and enjoy the many health benefits and camaraderie that embracing physical fitness can bring.”

The CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge is a 3.5-mile road race open to teams of employees from corporations, businesses, government agencies, educational institutions, not-for-profit corporations, and financial institutions. Last year’s event attracted upwards of 7,700 runners/walkers encompassing 432 participating organizations. Employers use the event as a platform to provide health and fitness opportunities in the workplace while promoting goodwill and teamwork among their employees. Runners, joggers, and walkers are invited to compete and all participants receive a complementary T-shirt and light refreshments following the race.

The event is organized by, and serves as the major fundraiser for, HMRRC, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization that was incorporated in 1971 and is one of the largest running clubs in the nation, with more than 2,000 members throughout the Capital Region. Since 1981, this fundraiser has helped to underwrite HMRRC’s many activities and services, including scholarships to college-bound high school seniors, grants for youth running programs, seminars and clinics for runners, 30 other local running events throughout the year, and a monthly running magazine, The Pacesetter.

“The Hudson Mohawk Road Runners Club is delighted to partner with CDPHP to host the Workforce Team Challenge,” noted Pete Newkirk, the event’s director. “Our mission statements are uniquely aligned: Our club is dedicated to endorsing running and walking as part of a healthy lifestyle, while CDPHP is committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and has long been a strong community supporter.”

Each year, HMRRC selects a “charity of choice” and encourages sponsors and participants in the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge to add a contribution to their race fee. This year’s charity is the Boys & Girls Club of Albany.

“As the needs of our community grow, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany remains poised to answer the call of the youth who need us most. Thousands of children depend on us,” said Keyon L. Young, executive director, Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany. “We depend on the business and philanthropic communities to support our mission, and are delighted that CDPHP and HMRRC have chosen to help us enable and inspire our members to realize their full potential as productive and responsible citizens.”
