San Francisco Chiropractor, Dr. Adam Jacobs, Promotes Health and Chiropractic in the San Francisco Community through Corporate Outreach Program

Dr. Jacobs giving a chiropractic health education talk

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 11, 2011

As a chiropractor, Dr. Adam Jacobs is dedicated to increasing and maintaining the health of his patients and his community at large. Traditionally, he works toward this goal in his clinic, SF Custom Chiropractic, combining chiropractic, Active Release Technique and laser therapy. The clinic offers various monthly promotions allowing new patients to come into the office and see for themselves how beneficial his care can be to their health. Beyond this, Dr. Jacobs thought it would be wise to bring his knowledge and practice out into the community as well. He created a corporate outreach program, which offers on site education and/or therapeutic care.

Most recently, Dr. Adam Jacobs teamed up with Regus to bring in free chair massages for client appreciation. Dr. Jacobs and team of massage therapists came to Regus and provide some midday relaxation for their clients in their numerous office buildings throughout the Financial District. This partnership works as a way for Regus to show their clients appreciation and allows the clients to get some much needed stress relief and an introduction to SF Custom Chiropractic.

In the past, Dr. Jacobs has also used his corporate outreach program as a means for community education. Dr. Jacobs has arranged health talks at various offices, gyms, apartment complexes and clubs on topics including ergonomics, repetitive stress injuries, stress reduction, headaches and carpel tunnel syndrome. He educates on proper posture and demonstrates easy and effective stretches that anyone can incorporate into their daily routine to reduce stress and pain.

Next week, Dr. Jacobs will be giving ergonomic health talks at Jumpstart Automotive Group and Nossaman Law offices. Corporate Outreach events are easily set up by contacting SF Custom Chiropractic with a date, time and type of program. If you are interested in setting up a partnership for a corporate outreach program in your office, contact SF Custom Chiropractic at 415-788-8700.

About SF Custom Chiropractic: SF Custom Chiropractic opened in January 2011. Head treating doctor, Dr. Adam Jacobs received his doctorate of chiropractic from Palmer West College of Chiropractic (known for being the leader of sports chiropractic). He has a master’s degree and a full body and long nerve entrapment certification in Active Release Technique.

Our Health Campus Promotes Healthy Living

Our Health Campus Promotes Healthy Living

Winchester, VA (PRWEB) July 30, 2011

Our Health, a local nonprofit organization, is dedicating their new campus sign on Monday, August 8th at 11:30, to celebrate Dr. Robert G. Kendall and his instrumental support for the Our Health Kendall Community Campus, which houses several area nonprofit and health and human service organizations. Kendall is responsible for the major capital campaign which funded the original Our Health buildings. Their mission is to collaborate with area nonprofit agencies so that they can help them provide efficient services to their clients. The sign dedication is timely as the campus kicks off its first ‘Healthy Living Event’ on campus, Wednesday, August 10th from 9am to 1pm. Campus agencies and area farmers’ markets are hosting an informative session and food sale to promote healthy habits for Kendall Community Campus clients and their community. Valley Health Mobile Health Coach will also be on site with a nutritionist for consultation and free health screenings.

The Kendall Community Campus sign was made possible through many area business partners including Shockey Companies and the ongoing support of Mr. Donald Shockey, Frederick Block, Heritage Garden Club, Advantage Edge and others. Sharen Gromling, Executive Director of Our Health, shares, “The Healthy Living Event is the result of community support, originally led by Dr. Kendall, to appreciate the mission of Our Health and our nonprofit partners. We want to collaborate in any way to promote a healthy lifestyle for our area residents. Without Dr. Kendall’s initial support, we would not be here today to share a team approach on a simple concept, such as providing healthy food for our families.”

Our Health is a non-profit community resource, affiliated with Valley Health, which supports community agencies in the Northern Shenandoah Valley. Incorporated in 1999, an idea became a reality when a collaborative location became home for several area agencies in downtown Winchester. The campus was further expanded in 2010 when key public service agencies moved into the Snapp Foundry Building. This historic structure was renovated to a Silver LEED-certified standard. Our Health strives to develop collaborative partnerships that encourage community involvement and commitments to meeting the health and human service needs of our region. Its Volunteer Action Center provides viable services to connect volunteers to area needs and nonprofit partners with opportunities to enhance their programs. Active Aging Week Promotes Quality of Life for Seniors

Active Aging Week Promotes Quality of Life for Seniors

(PRWEB) September 15, 2004

Millions of older adults suffer from chronic illness that can be prevented or improved through regular exercise, yet more than a third of adults over age 65 remain inactive. This month, an alliance of wellness organizations is setting out to change that fact.

The International Council on Active Aging (ICAA), with the support of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, has joined forces with Lady of America and Jazzercise, Inc. to bring free fitness classes and health information to older adults for the second annual Active Aging Week. The international observance, held Sept. 27 through Oct. 3, will team fitness and wellness facilities that cater to the senior population with local fitness instructors to offer seniors free fitness classes and workouts.

Hundreds of facilities are currently scheduled to participate in the second annual Active Aging Week, including Lady of America, with 760 locations, and Goodlife Fitness Clubs, with 80-plus locations in Canada. This includes 10 Lady of America and Ladies Work Express facilities in the Tampa Bay Area. Add to this aggressive promotional campaigns, including statewide initiatives in Texas and in New South Wales, Australia, and the message of active aging is sure to reach more than 1 million older adults this year.

“As people get older, they’re frequently told what they can’t do. But the truth is, you’re never too old to become physically active,” says Judi Sheppard Missett, Jazzercise founder and CEO. “Often, the physical frailty attributed to aging results from under use, rather than wear and tear. Our goal is to help people understand the advantages of regular exercise and provide fun and simple ways for them to get active and stay active.”

Betsy Rutkowski, Director and Owner of Lady of America, encourages adults ages 50 and older to take part in these activities. “At any age, you can enjoy a better quality of life and health by being physically active,” says Rutkowski.

Apart from increasing energy, strength and self-esteem, regular exercise also helps to maintain mental capacity and aid in the management of debilitating conditions such as arthritis, high blood pressure, diabetes and osteoporosis. For older adults in particular, this translates into increased independence, with exercise helping to increase strength and flexibility and lower risk for disease.

“Many people still don’t realize that physical inactivity is contributing to a number of the chronic diseases affecting older adults, including heart disease, diabetes, colon cancer and high blood pressure,” says Colin Milner, International Council on Active Aging CEO. “We want to spread the word that there are simple steps we can all take to improve the health of older generations.”

More information about these activities is available by calling Lady of America at (727)843-8288. This facility is located at 5213 US Highway 29, New Port Richey, FL.
