Another Inquiry Into Psychiatry’s Drugs Prescribed for Invented Disorders

Research, conducted by the Citizens Commission on Human Rights a psychiatric watchdog group established by the Church of Scientology, showed that in only the past two years 18 government warnings by five different countries including Switzerland, England, Canada, the US and Europe have been issued on the previously undisclosed dangers of psychiatric drugs citing side effects of drug dependence, addiction, mania, hostility, aggression, psychosis, suicide and violence.

The latest issue against psychiatry’s drugs came from Health Canada, recently, which warned of heart risks for all drugs used for the made-up “disease” known as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The warnings include a risk of sudden death. The mind altering drugs are the most widely prescribed drugs to Canadian children and, according to a public advisory, can increase heart rate and blood pressure.

Brian Beaumont, President of the Vancouver chapter of the Citizens Commission on Human Rights stated, “The fact is, there is nothing in any medical or scientific literature that confirms the existence of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). It was invented by a handful of psychiatrists by a show of hands at an American Psychiatric Association meeting in the 80’s. Thus, psychiatrists are labeling and drugging a non-existent malady which is an indictable offence, fraud and child abuse.”

The health agency has made the safety labels and prescribing information stronger on the psychiatric drugs: Adderall XR, Concerta, Dexedrine, Ritalin and Ritalin SR and Strattera, as well as Attenade and Biphentin, two drugs that are not yet available in Canada.

More than 1.9 million prescriptions for the stimulants were filled by Canadian retail drugstores in the 12 months ending April 30, 2006, according to health research firm IMS Health. An estimated three million U.S. children and 1.5 million adults are on psycho-stimulants.

One prevailing psychiatric theory (key to psychotropic drug and amphetamine type drug sales) is that mental disorders result from a chemical imbalance in the brain. As with this and psychiatry’s other theories, there is no biological or other evidence to prove them. Representative of a large group of medical and biochemistry experts, Elliot Valenstein, Ph.D., author of Blaming the Brain says: “There are no tests available for assessing the chemical status of a living person’s brain.”

There have been 25 reports in the U.S. of children and adults who died suddenly between 1999 and 2003 after taking one of the drugs, including a 13-year-old boy who died within one hour of receiving his first dose. An autopsy revealed he had a heart disorder.

The Citizens Commission on Human Rights was established in 1969 by the Church of Scientology to investigate and expose psychiatric violations of human rights. For more information and a complete list of recent government inquiries go to http://www. cchr.org.

David Lloyd Leisure Injects Nearly £2M Into Finchley Club Refurbishment

(PRWEB UK) 1 September 2011

David Lloyd Leisure, the health, sports and leisure group, has announced it is pumping £1.85 million into its Finchley facility over the next six months to refurbish much of the club and install a purpose built facility for kids: DL Kids.

DL Kids, a purpose built facility offering a wide range of fun, sporting and educational programmes developed by the group, will open at David Lloyd Finchley, in North London, in December 2011 at a cost of over £800,000. It will offer a wide range of term-time and holiday programmes that are aimed at fun, socialisation, learning and activity.

In addition, David Lloyd Finchley will see just over £1m spent on upgrading its clubroom cafe – to be rebranded DL Cafebar – as well as its changing room areas and nursery.

Tracy Gale, general manager for David Lloyd Finchley said: “We are very excited about the improvements that will be made to the clubroom area and changing areas, as well as the opening of our new DL Kids facility. The demand for DL Kids programmes and facilities has grown significantly since we first introduced it and we know the purpose built facility will allow us to offer more programmes in a better space that works practically for the family as a whole.”

The group has seen a three per cent net growth in junior members since the beginning of 2011, with over 266,000 child visits per month, and an average of 3.2m per year. DL Kids Finchley will be the third purpose built DL Kids facility, the first having opened at David Lloyd Raynes Park in January 2010 as a pilot, and, following its success, DL Kids Leeds was opened in April this year. The facilities feature a mini sports hall, multi-purpose studios, interactive classrooms, DL Kids café and child-oriented bathrooms, and offer the DL Kids programmes which include sports, arts and crafts, hundreds of types of games, birthday parties and more. The programmes, run throughout the school year, are designed to complement the national curriculum, in addition to the DL Kids Holiday Active programme that runs during the school holidays and is open to non members as well.

Work has already commenced on refurbishing the DL Cafebar and changing room areas, and is due to be complete by November.

Online Pharmacies Offer Relief as More and More Americans Fall Into the Donut Hole, says DoctorSolve

Online Pharmacies Offer Relief as More and More Americans Fall Into the Donut Hole, says DoctorSolve

Vancouver, B.C. (PRWEB) August 22, 2006

For more and more seniors and disabled people, the gaping edge of the dreaded Plan D donut hole is in sight. Many have already fallen in.

The donut hole is the point in Medicare Plan D when beneficiaries reach annual drug costs of $ 2,250, including the amount paid by insurance. From here on until their drug costs reach $ 5,100, beneficiaries are expected to pay the full cost of their prescriptions – in addition to paying their monthly premiums.

“Unfortunately because Plan D is so overwhelming and confusing, many seniors didn’t fully understand the meaning of the donut hole when they signed up,” says Dr. Paul Zickler of DoctorSolve online pharmacy services (http://www.doctorsolve.com). “The real ramifications are just beginning to make themselves apparent.”

People with chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and mental disorders, or who take several medications are the hardest hit. “Many of them reached the donut hole long ago, and were shocked to discover that after being on the plan only a short time, they had to empty their own wallet to get their medications. At that point, they had to decide between food and their health,” states Zickler.

While Medicare wooed millions of unsuspecting seniors to the D side, it is the donut hole of Plan D that will turn their heads back to the North. “Many patients who gave in to the pressure of Congress and the FDA, and chose not to purchase drugs from online pharmacies will once again realize just how affordable and beautifully uncomplicated it can be,” says Zickler. “With prices 43% cheaper than buying in the U.S., safe products and consistent, attentive service from medical professionals, it is still a better option by far. ”

DoctorSolve, a Canadian Internet-based pharmacy intermediary (license #BC Q37), offers lower-cost, long-term prescriptions. A professionally registered pharmacist fills all prescriptions. A certified member of the Canadian International Pharmacy Association, DoctorSolve is ranked as one of the best online pharmacies by PharmacyChecker.com. DoctorSolve has filled more than 200,000 U.S. prescriptions.

Left-Handed FrogPad™ Hops Into the Hearts of the World’s Lefties

Left-Handed FrogPad™ Hops Into the Hearts of the World’s Lefties

HOUSTON, TX (PRWEB) July 19, 2004

FrogPad, Inc. and its strategic solutions partner, Gennum Corporation (TSX: GND), announced today the immediate availability of the left-handed version of FrogPad’s one-handed keyboard. Past United States Presidents such as Ronald Reagan, George Bush and Bill Clinton have all been left-handed and now the FrogPad has joined this illustrious group with its new product, Lefty! FrogPad does not discriminate between right-handed, left-handed or ambidextrous people – all are welcome to Frog.

“We are excited to offer a keyboard uniquely designed to fit the needs of the world’s lefties. Consumer electronics manufacturers have continually ignored this group, but not FrogPad,” stated Linda Marroquin, CEO of FrogPad. “With the left-handed FrogPad, typing, for lefties, is now simple, easy to learn and fitted for the left-handed lifestyle.”

To further support FrogPad’s involvement with the left-handed population, FrogPad will be sponsoring Lefthanders Day in the UK on August 13, 2004. Left Handers Day goal is to raise awareness of the challenges caused by living in a right-handed world as well as educate manufacturers and designers to accommodate left-handers’ comfort and safety.

Lefties Left Out Through History

Through analysis of cave drawings, it was historically thought the population of right handed and left handed people was equal in the Stone Age. When tools became more sophisticated, a preference toward the right hand became prevalent. For example, knights once carried a shield to protect their hearts with the left hand but weapons were carried and made for the right hand. With time, left-handed people became buried in history.

Since the beginning of tools, the world has been biased toward right-handed individuals. The average left-handed person finds day-to-day activities harder and uncomfortable. Many everyday tools – such as corkscrews and light bulbs – require a left-to-right wrist turning motion, which is more comfortable for right-handed people. Other tools are designed specifically for use in a right-handed fashion: scissors, can openers, golf clubs, etc. FrogPad now makes living left-handed a little easier.

About FrogPad

FrogPad has been overwhelmed with the interest in its left-handed keyboard. Even right-handed people are learning to use their left hand to type so they can multi-task and solely use their right hand to move the mouse or draw on a drawing tablet. The FrogPad is available today via overnight shipping from offices around the world. FrogPad’s offices in Surrey, England, Tokyo, Japan, Burlington, Ontario, Canada and Hamburg, Germany make the delivery of the FrogPad speedy.

The FrogPad keyboard is the ONLY one-handed, ergonomic keyboard that is 1/5th the size of a traditional keyboard, yet easier to use because it is designed around the 15 most-frequently-used letters in the Roman alphabet. Unlike a traditional QWERTY layout, whose design was derived from the limitations of 19th Century typewriter technology, the FrogPad offers a logical key layout and design that encourages correct ergonomic posture. After an average of eight hours of training and practice, most FrogPad users can achieve input rates of the standard 40 words per minute, as compared to the average of 10-20 words per minute by the fastest thumb typists. Additionally, the FrogPad can be ordered with Bluetooth compatibility for the mobile professional on the go.

Parental Alienation Disorder Leaps into Mental Health History with the American Psychiatric Association

Parental Alienation Disorder Leaps into Mental Health History with the American Psychiatric Association

2009 CSPAS Conference

New York, NY (PRWEB) September 14, 2010

Psychological research and studies have been investigating the phenomenon known as Parental Alienation for the last 60 years. Today, most mental health professionals regard it as a form of child abuse. During the year parental alienation also leaped into mental health history, as the American Psychiatric Association announced it is now considering – Parental Alienation Disorder for inclusion in DSM-5. There are 3 possible ways for P.A.D. to get into DSM-5: in the main body of Appendix A as a mental dis-order, in Appendix B as a relational problem or in Appendix A in one of the appendices of DSM-5 under Criteria Sets and Axes for further study.

The inclusion of Parental Alienation Disorder could help 200,000 children in American every year who suffer from this condition. It could also help abate this form of child abuse and bring families better treatment solutions along the way. In one of the American Journal’s of Family Therapy, Dr. William Bernet defined parental alienation as a mental condition in which a child – usually one whose parents are engaged in a high conflict divorce- allies himself or herself strongly with one parent and rejects a relationship with the other parent without legitimate justification. “

In NYC an international conference on parental alienation will be taking place at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine – October 2nd and October 3rd in the Stern Auditorium. Joseph Goldberg, Founder of the CSPAS conference said, ” The conference is important to every mental health professional involved in helping children and families. It also presents an opportunity for many family lawyers to educate themselves in ways that can help their clients obtain court interventions that are appropriate to helping these children.”

If you are interested in attending the conference please visit and register online at http://www.CSPAS.ca/nyc or call 647-476-3170. For all media list inquiries about and for the event please contact 646.370.3458.
