MyFax Internet Fax Services Introduced to Business Travelers

MyFax Internet Fax Services Introduced to Business Travelers

Ottawa, Canada (PRWEB) February 13, 2006

Wireless Logix GroupTM and Protus IP Solutions announce the integration of MyFax into the BizCenter™ Logix business center solution located in hotel lobbies, airport club lounges and Multi-Dwelling-Units throughout the United States. MyFax, an internet-based fax service offered by Protus, allows busy business travelers to send and receive faxes using existing email accounts or the web. It also enables users to better manage their fax communication – reduces paper usage and allows faxes to be scheduled at a preset date, all at a lower cost than traditional fax servers or fax machines, regardless of physical location.

”Mobile workers expect information immediately and demand that voice and data keep pace with their business requirements and hectic schedules,” says Joseph Nour, CEO of Protus IP Solutions. “Partnering with Wireless Logix to bring our MyFax service to business people in transit answers a huge demand for mobility, accessibility and the capability to transmit paperless documents as needed.”

Faxing is a critical component to many business transactions where sales orders, purchase agreements, contracts and other documents are time sensitive. With Internet based faxing capability, faxes can easily be forwarded, saved and stored digitally, allowing for smarter document management. Email to fax virtually eliminates lost pages, allows for immediate electronic document storage and ensures delivery of the document to the right hands. A key benefit MyFax offers Internet fax users in a public facility is document confidentiality. Using Internet fax service, business users eliminate the risk posed by traditional fax machines of exposing private and confidential faxes as they sit idly on the paper tray.

BizCenter Logix is a complete business center solution developed for public access at airline club lounges, hotels, resorts, condominiums, apartments, libraries and similar places. Utilizing the combination of secure browser software ‘NetStopPro’ and a multi-function device, business centers can provide users with high speed Internet access, printing, copying, scanning and Internet faxing services.

“Offering business executives Internet based faxing capability in our business centers, provides them with the confidence that their fax communications remain secure and confidential with easy access through their email and from the web,” says, Abbas Sadriwalla, CEO, Wireless Logix Group. “With the integration of MyFax internet-based fax functionality into the BizCenter Logix solution, business center owners can further streamline their business processes and eliminate all associated costs of hardware, software and phone lines.”

LaneChange.Net Launches LaneSnap.com — Offering New, Low Cost, Self-Serve Internet Services

Ottawa, Ontario (PRWEB) November 8, 2005

LaneChange.Net, a full service Internet solutions provider, announces the launch of a new Internet services website, LaneSnap.com. Targeted at clients who do not need the premier level customer support provided by LaneChange.Net, LaneSnap.com provides self-serve Internet services at entry-level prices. Offerings include full-featured domain name registrations, domain name backordering, web and email hosting, as well as virtual and dedicated servers.

“LaneSnap.com provides the tools needed to enable clients to independently launch their first Internet presence at a low cost,” said Robert Schwartz, President of LaneChange.Net. “The self-serve site gives domain name registrants the ability to forward or host email as well as the ability to park or display a one-page custom website. Clients are also able to add on features to suit their needs.”

LaneSnap.com offers new services previously not available through LaneChange.Net. New top-level domain names now obtainable are: .at, .be, .eu, .me.uk, .jp, .co.nz, .net.nz, .org.nz, .jobs and .ws.

Other services provided by LaneSnap.com include access to virtual and dedicated servers as well as domain name backordering. Virtual and dedicated servers provide clients the convenience to control their own hosting environment. Domain name backordering allows clients a chance to register soon-to-be-released domain names. When released by the registry, the service attempts to register the domain name for the client.

With LaneSnap.com clients can host their own content using the shared web hosting service. They can also choose to build a more elaborate website using the on-line website builder tool. Email hosting services are available both independently and with web hosting packages.

“LaneChange.Net and LaneSnap.com offer complementary services,” continued Mr. Schwartz. “Internet needs change and evolve. By launching LaneSnap.com, we can now offer low cost, self-serve alternatives in addition to the premium, personalized services that have traditionally been available at LaneChange.Net. Providing more options and a greater spectrum of products and services to our clients has been the cornerstone of LangeChange.Net right from the start.”

SPAMMERS USING HOTEL INTERNET CONNECTIONS

SPAMMERS USING HOTEL INTERNET CONNECTIONS

Ottawa, Ontario, (PRWEB) September 6, 2003 –

Nebularis Inc., based in Ottawa, Ontario announced earlier today the increased popularity of unsolicited e-mail marketers (spammers) using hotel Internet connections to send unsolicited e-mail.

“They are using hotel in-room Internet connections to shift the liability to the hotel,” comments e-mail technologist Jay Swackhamer. “They book a room overnight, setup a laptop to mail-out millions of unsolicited e-mails, then leave, and the hotel is left with the job of cleaning up their reputation.” Hotels could be blamed for the unsolicited e-mail activities, receive numerous complaints from angry spam victims, and end up in a number of mail server blacklists, which would inconvenience the hotels’ regular Internet-using guests and could damage the hotels’ reputation within the Internet community.

MailPoliceTM, an e-mail protection service operated by Nebularis, is currently investigating an ongoing incident that is affecting several hotels in the Ottawa-area. The junk e-mail under investigation is marketing a guide for grants and loans offered by government bodies.

“Any hotel that offers in-room or wireless Internet connections should be taking this very seriously – this type of activity is the Internet equivalent of hijacking and can land [the hotels] in some hot water if it’s not diligently taken care of or stopped,” says Mr. Swackhamer, adding that this is the first known documented case of hotel room Internet connections used for such purposes.

“By the time we trace where the unsolicited e-mail is coming from, and made contact with the hotel from where it originated, the spammer has already checked-out and left for the next one.”
